Welcome to the May update for Amber Valley Info
Amber Valley Info is a free resource to promote the Borough of Amber Valley.

We promote business, community and tourism and provide this as a free service to you so can we ask a little favour of you?

Diary of Events
We list over 300 active events including live music, karaoke, community fairs and events, public meetings, seasonal events, festivals and much more.

We have a range of event specials for 2013, if you want to add any events for this special or to our events list in general then you can let us have details.

Business Directory
Our local directory continues to expand with over 4000 local businesses and groups and this is growing every day, we offer all businesses and groups in and around the Amber Valley opportunity to have a profile page on our site – This profile page can contain your contact details, a description of your business/group as well as a logo and some photos, we can even include a brochure if you let us have a PDF.

Some examples of companies who have made the most of their profiles by adding logos, text or images are;

If you want to extend your profile then you can go online, find your own profile and submit an update or upload documents (photos or PDF files) or you can email us back with your update and attachments – please allow a couple of days for the updates to be applied. We pick a few each month to include in this email.


Ripley Royal British Legion Raise A Glass To St George
At 11am On Tuesday 23rd April the Royal British Legion Ripley branch toasted St George on the steps of Ripley Town Hall in the company of the Town and Borough Mayors.

A Town Cryer announced the toast to St George which was made with a flagon of Everards ale supplied by the Sir Barnes Wallis Pub Landlord, Murray Hart.

Amber Valley Hornets Create a BUZZ!
Amber Valley Hornets Ladies Hockey Club have just been crowned Derbyshire Hockey league Division 2 champions - finishing the season undefeated in the league by beating Ilkeston 8-0 at the weekend. The club based at Mill School in Ripley are only in their third year and are already looking forward to playing Division 1 hockey next season. They also reached the semi-finals of the cup with their 2nd team who have just completed there first season in the league finishing a respectable 4th and reaching the final of the plate competition which takes place on the 27th April against Burton.

#AVYourSayLive event at the Marquis of Ormonde raises £100 for local charity
Amber Valley’s Twitter networking group #AVYourSay took their weekly online Twitter chat from cyberspace and into the real world last week under the slogan ‘Don’t Just Tweet, Meet’ with a dynamic event held at the Marquis of Ormonde in Codnor.

#AVYourSay is a weekly Twitter networking event held online every Tuesday night from 8pm to 9pm giving Amber Valley businesses and groups the chance to ‘tweet in’ using the hash tag #AVYourSay. Within a short space of time it’s huge popularity has had it trending nationally on a number of occasions.

The Amber Valley Info web site is provided free of charge for the benefit of local businesses, groups and residents but we do have running costs.

Some of these costs are covered by advertising revenue but we also try to raise funds through other methods that allow you to help us without any cost to you.

We would always encourage you to shop locally but if you are going to order online then use our Amazon Store.

You will still be connected to Amazon to pay for your order, you pay the same cost and still receive the same great service that you would expect from Amazon.

The only difference is that Amazon pay a small percentage of commission back to Amber Valley Info to support the running of the site
