Model Tram and Railway Exhibition at the National Tramway Museum
The popular Model Tramway and Railway Exhibition returns to the National Tramway Museum, Crich Tramway Village on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August 2026.
A total of 12 layouts will be present this year including:
Zell a HO layout shows the centre of the town of Zell in Germany. The tram station on the centre consists of three platforms with an interchange facility to the trolleybus system. The town centre contains a bandstand, market area, shops and a tram deport. The rolling stock dates from 1902 to 2015.
Rainy City is a slice of Manchester in the 1920s/30s. It does not depict a specific location but draws on themes from the area. Depicting an industrial landscape dominated by Mills, Factories and Railways. Trams running are from Manchester and the surrounding local authorities that worked together to allow travel between the towns and cities.
Manchester Square layout is 4mm scale model of a street scene between the Manchester Pub and Foxhall Square, which is a section of Blackpool Corporation Tramway. The visitors will be able to see the type of trams that operated in Blackpool between: 1998 – 2004.
Event Organiser, John Huddlestone, said: “The Model Exhibition continues to be very popular and we are delighted to continually add something new to the exhibits each year”.
