Launch Of WOMBLE MANIA! At the Heights of Abraham,
‘Opened by Marcus Robertson, Son of Wombles’ author, Elisabeth Beresford, officially launched WOMBLE MANIA! at the Heights of Abraham, which will open to the public on Saturday 26th July. This brand new, exclusive, one of a kind exhibition, celebrating the famous Wombles, who are now enjoining their ‘underground, overground’ adventures at the Heights, will be open all season. (until 2nd November)
The exhibition explores the origins of The Wombles, Elisabeth Beresford, and how they went on to become 70s mega stars, with a fun and nostalgic insight into the BBC animation, the individual Womble characters and their personalities, all based on Elisabeth’s own family, their extraordinary success in the Hit Parade with The Wombles Band, and finally the chance to pledge to Be More Womble, under the stern watch of Great Uncle Bulgaria. There is chance to interact and take a selfie with ‘Meet & Greet’ Wombles characters, delighting the crowds of visitors during the school holidays, including October half term, and also each weekend’. www.heightsofabraham.com
