Chesterfield Royal Hospital invites members and public to Annual Members Meeting

Published on Friday 7 August 2026

Members of the public, patients, colleagues and community partners are being invited to attend Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's Annual Members' Meeting (AMM) on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. The event will take place at the Trust's Education Centre and will provide an opportunity to hear about the achievements, innovations and improvements made across the organisation over the past year, as well as the priorities and challenges ahead.

Carol Warren, Lead Governor and Jackie Smith, Trust Chair - Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The evening will begin with a marketplace from 5pm to 7pm, featuring more than 20 stalls showcasing services, departments, community partners, volunteering opportunities and charity initiatives from across the Trust. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet colleagues, ask questions and learn more about the work taking place across the organisation to improve care for local people.

The formal Annual Members' Meeting will begin at 7pm and conclude at 8pm. The meeting will include presentations and updates from Trust leaders, highlights from the past year, patient and colleague stories, information about the Trust's Annual Report and Accounts and Quality Account, and a question-and-answer session.

The Trust's Annual Report and Accounts and Quality Account are expected to be published in early September, following completion of the required Parliamentary process. Copies will be available on the Trust's website and can also be requested directly from the Trust. The Annual Members' Meeting provides an opportunity to hear more about the content of these documents and ask questions about the Trust's performance and future priorities.

The event is open to Trust members and members of the public, and those unable to attend in person will be able to watch the meeting live via the Trust's Facebook page.

Jackie Smith, Trust Chair, said: "Our Annual Members' Meeting is an important opportunity for us to come together with our members, patients, colleagues and local communities to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future.

"We are incredibly proud of the care our teams provide and the progress we continue to make across our hospital, community and primary care services. The meeting offers a chance to celebrate those achievements, share our plans and hear directly from the people we care for.

"I would encourage anyone with an interest in their local NHS to join us, visit the marketplace and learn more about the fantastic work taking place across our Trust."

Carol Warren, Lead Governor, added: "As governors, we play a vital role in representing the views of our members and communities, and the Annual Members' Meeting is one of the most important opportunities for people to engage with their local NHS.

"The marketplace provides an excellent chance to meet colleagues, find out more about the services available and speak directly to people delivering care and support every day. We welcome questions, feedback and ideas from members and the public, and I would encourage people to come along and get involved."

As a Foundation Trust, Chesterfield Royal Hospital is accountable to its members and local communities. The Annual Members' Meeting forms part of this commitment, providing an opportunity to present the Trust's Annual Report and Accounts, share performance and quality highlights, and discuss future priorities.
