Volunteer Information Day at Iconic Derbyshire Windmill
An opportunity to meet the team and discuss volunteering opportunities on Saturday 28th March 10am to 1pm
Heage Windmill, the last stone tower six-sailed windmill in Britain and the only working windmill in Derbyshire producing stone ground flour the traditional way, is seeking additional volunteers to join the friendly team. The mill is maintained and operated solely by volunteers.
On Saturday 28th March potential volunteers will be welcomed at the windmill to discuss the range of volunteering opportunities available including millers, Visitor Centre staff, tour guides, maintenance, fundraising, social media and administration staff. The mill will also be open for flour sales.
Anyone interested in helping to preserve and operate this special building can just drop in between 10am and 1pm to have a cuppa and discuss what is involved with one of the existing volunteers.
The work carried out by the volunteers ensures that Heage Windmill, one of the highest rated East Midland attractions in visitor reviews, can continue to educate and enthral whilst passing on the traditional skills of millwrighting and milling.
