Appeal launched following theft of bronze statues from Somercotes
Police are appealing for information after a number of bronze statues were stolen from a sculpture studio in Somercotes.
The break-in took place at a business just off Nottingham Road on Tuesday 30 December. During the incident, thieves stole two dog sculptures and a further statue of a horse.
CCTV footage shows the offenders arriving at the location in a car at around 10.20pm, during which a number of items were taken before they left the scene. The same vehicle returned at approximately 11pm, this time accompanied by a white flatbed Citroën Relay van, and further items were stolen before the suspects drove off.
The suspects are described as three or four men, two of whom are white, all wearing dark clothing.
Officers have carried out extensive enquiries and are now asking members of the public to assist with the investigation. Images of the stolen statues have been released in the hope that someone may recognise them.
Police are urging anyone who is offered one of the statues for sale, or who sees them advertised online, in a shop or at an event, to come forward.
In addition, officers would like to hear from anyone with Ring doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage covering the area at the time of the incident who has not yet spoken to police.
