Amber Valley Borough Local Plan submitted to independent examination
The Amber Valley Borough Local Plan has been submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination.
The plan, which guides the future development of Amber Valley, was presented on Monday, July 29, 2024.
It will now be subject to independent examination by an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State, to determine whether the Local Plan is sound.
Residents can view the submission documents and the other supporting information on the borough council’s website at www.ambervalley.gov.uk/localplanexamination
Hard copies are also available to view at various libraries across the borough.
Locations include Alfreton Library, Allestree Library, Belper Library, Duffield Library, Heanor Library, Mackworth Library, Ripley Library, Ripley Town Hall (AVBC Offices), and Somercotes Library.
Hard copies of the submission documents (other than copies of the representations and the other supporting information) are available during normal opening hours.
The submission of the documents is in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
The Local Plan examination is a continuous process running from the date of submission through to the receipt of the Inspector’s report.
Part of the examination process will involve hearing sessions, where those invited to participate by the Inspector will have the opportunity to respond to matters raised.
The hearing sessions will be open to the public to attend, but only those invited to participate in the sessions by the Inspector will have the opportunity to speak.
All communication to and from the Inspector during the examination process will be managed by the independent Programme Officer.
The Programme Officer’s contact details are available on the borough council’s website via the following link: https://www.ambervalley.gov.uk/localplanprogrammeofficer
