Croots Farm Shop celebrates 15th Christmas

Published on Friday 10 November 2023

Popular Derbyshire farm shop Croots is celebrating its 15th Christmas this year.

The shop, based at Farnah House Farm, Wirksworth Road, just outside Duffield, has been offering quality local food and drink in partnership with many local suppliers since 2008.

This Christmas it has a full range of festive events planned, gift ideas galore, hampers, plus the extensive array of mouth-watering food and drink that Croots Farm Shop has become renowned for.

With one of the widest selection of cheeses in the area, delicious Christmas pork pies, tasty mince pies and a range of festive hampers, not to mention turkeys, beef joints, hams and other meats, Croots is the perfect shopping destination for foodie fans.

You can even pick up a Christmas tree at Croots…the ultimate Christmas decoration!

Kay Croot, who runs the farm shop, said: “It’s really exciting that this is our 15th Christmas here at Croots. We’ve been planning the festive season for months – making sure that we have all the ingredients for the perfect Christmas.

“Our shelves are brimming with a superb range of sweet and savoury products for the Christmas menu, along with wines and spirits, plus lots of gift ideas.

“We’re very proud of the long-lasting relationships we have built up with so many local suppliers and how we continue to improve our range of locally produced food and drink. New additions are a range from The Loaf at Crich and a new venison supplier, plus we’ve been working with Weavers of Nottingham to offer a new and improved selection of wines.”

Croots Farm Shop has an exciting programme of festive events throughout this special time of the year including Santa’s Grotto, which is run in support of Amber Valley Rotary Club’s fundraising efforts, festive lunches, and an already sold out Evening with Val Stones of British Bake Off fame, who is Kay’s sister-in-law.

The festivities kick off on 16th November with the Taste of Christmas Fair from 5.30pm to 8pm. Featuring festive food and drink tastings with many of Croots’ local suppliers, there will be cakes, jams, cheese and booze to name a few. Discover inspiring present ideas in the shop whilst enjoying a glass of complimentary mulled wine and one of Croots’ fabulous homemade mince pies!

Croots Farm Shop can also host bookings in its café for large parties of up to 50 people for festive lunches or evening events. Just get in touch with the team for more information.

“This year for the first time we’ve been busy updating our website and all Christmas ordering will be online, although of course our friendly team is here to help if you need support with this,” added Kay. “Christmas is set to be a cracker at Croots this year, as the shop celebrates its special milestone. There’s always a lovely atmosphere in the shop and café at this time of year, not to mention enticing aromas from all the homemade products we produce here at the farm.

“As we celebrate our 15th Christmas at Croots, we’d like to thank our loyal customers and wonderful team for all their support.”
