trentbarton is bringing back its night buses
trentbarton is bringing back its night bus services on Fridays and Saturdays to get customers home after their trips out to pubs, theatres and cinemas.
With coronavirus venue capacity limits ending this Monday [July 19] and nightclubs allowed to reopen trentbarton expects extra late-night demand, particularly at weekends.
Services seeing the return of night journeys include red arrow, the allestree, H1, i4, ilkeston flyer, the nines, the sixes, swift and X38.
The return of night buses will follow other timetable changes from Monday [July 19]. Those changes include an increase in frequency on the keyworth.
Jeff Counsell, managing director at trentbarton, said: “With nightclubs opening and more people able to visit other night-time destinations such as pubs, restaurants, theatres and cinemas, we want to be there for them to get safely home.
“To cope with the extra demand, we are reinstating lots of night buses either in their pre-Covid form or with slight timetable changes.
“We are ready to support our customers’ personal decisions on whether to continue wearing face coverings as there is no evidence that public transport is any less safe than other indoor venues.
“We will continue with the measures we have long had in place to minimise any potential transmission of the virus, including our enhanced and robust multi-step cleaning regime which has additional in-service cleans throughout each day. Each bus will also continue to receive a disinfectant fogging every night.
“Customers can continue to support our drivers and fellow customers by using the hand sanitiser provided and by paying using mango or contactless cards and devices. Anyone with coronavirus symptoms should stay at home and not travel.”
Details of the returning night bus services and other timetable changes are on trentbarton’s website as well as a guide showing the quietest times of day to travel on each trentbarton route: trentbarton.co.uk/coronavirus
