Belper Leisure Centre Offers Free Month of Swimming Lessons for Belper Children

Published on Tuesday 8 September 2026

Free month of swimming lessons for Belper kids from 1 September to get more kids learning to swim.

As the UK comes out of a record-breaking summer, Belper Leisure Centre has stepped up to give the local community an opportunity to continue to cool down safely.

Over the summer, Trilogy Active, a health and well-being trust, that owns and operates Belper Leisure Centre, gave more people than ever the chance to use their popular 25 metre pool.

“We know the summer holidays were a busy and tiring time for parents across Belper.” said John Fletcher, Managing Director of Trilogy Active. “The regular heatwaves we experienced made that even more challenging which is why we did all we could to support our members in these summer months.”

“As the holidays come to an end, we are continuing to do all we can and are introducing a whole free month for local kids when signing up to our swimming lessons.” he said.

“This is a great offer, and we hope it will get more local families learning to swim in a safe environment with expertly trained swim teachers.”

As a health and wellbeing trust, Trilogy Active operates Cripps Recreation Centre, Duston Sports Centre and Brackmills Fitness Club in Northampton, as well as Belper Leisure Centre in Derbyshire and Berzerk Active Play Centres in Atherstone, Northampton, Derby and Birmingham. Trilogy Active also delivers the Holiday Activities and Food Programme in partnership with Northamptonshire Sport and the Amber Valley School Sports Partnership.

“Trilogy Active is passionate about water safety and therefore we encouraged our local members over the summer that if they knew someone who wanted to build their confidence in the water they could recommend them for a free trial at our swim school at Belper Leisure Centre.”

Belper Leisure Centre swimming pool is 25 metres in length and has level access from the changing area to the pool. It also has a manual hoist for wheelchair users to access the water.

With slow, medium and fast lanes in place during lane swim sessions, classes are Swim England accredited and are available for under 5’s (3-5 years) and Stage 1 to 10.
