As part of the Belper 250 celebrations commemorating the 250th anniversary of the building of the first cotton mills in Belper, this 3.5-mile guided walk looks at the military history of the town during that period.
Starting and finishing in the shadow of the mills, and led by a guide with over 35 years experience of leading walks in the area, it covers the period from the Napoleonic Wars to the Second World War.
Along the way it reveals a few little-known secrets, and explodes a few common myths that many in the town still believe today. Available as both a morning (10:00am) and afternoon (2:00pm) walk, online pre-booking is essential as places on each walk are limited.
Further information on the walks and how to book can be found at https://derbysheritagewalks.com/belper_at_war.htm.
