Residents turn up the volume for silent disco at Belper care home
Residents at a Belper care home have proved that age is no barrier to enjoying a good time after taking part in a fun-filled silent disco.

Kilburn Care Centre, which is operated by Aureum Care, was filled with smiles, laughter and some impressive moves as residents donned headphones and enjoyed an afternoon of their favourite music.
From toe-tapping classics to upbeat dance hits, there was something for everyone, with residents singing along, waving their arms in the air and dancing in their seats.
Staff also joined in the fun, encouraging residents to get involved and enjoy the music at their own pace.
The unusual activity proved a huge hit, bringing everyone together for an afternoon of entertainment and demonstrating the positive impact music can have on wellbeing, social interaction and happiness.
Activities coordinator Vicky Lowther said: “It was absolutely wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, singing out loud to their favourite songs and joining in with such enthusiasm.
“The smiles, laughter and happy faces said it all! Everyone loved the silent disco, and it was lovely to see the music bringing everyone together and creating such special memories.”
Among those thoroughly enjoying the experience was resident Frank, who was already looking forward to the next event.
He said: “It was so much fun! I loved singing out loud to all the songs and waving my hands in the air.
“The music was fantastic, and I couldn’t stop smiling! It was amazing, and I can’t wait to do it again!”
Vicky added: “Music has such a wonderful way of bringing people together, and it was lovely to see everyone letting their hair down and having fun.
“We are always looking for different activities that residents can enjoy, and judging by the reaction, the silent disco is definitely something we will be doing again!”
