Up to £250 funding available to start a Amber Valley Neighbourhood Watch
Residents across Amber Valley are being encouraged to help make their streets and communities safer, more connected and better supported by setting up new Neighbourhood Watch schemes.
Up to £250 funding is currently available per Watch to help new groups get started.
Neighbourhood Watch is recognised as one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce crime, increase safety and build stronger communities. It brings neighbours together, improves communication and connects residents directly with their local Safer Neighbourhood Team. No previous experience is required, and full support is provided throughout the process.
Funding can be used to cover:
- Official Neighbourhood Watch signage
- Posters and postcards to invite residents to join
- Awareness materials to help launch a scheme
- Other resources to support a local Watch
Support includes:
- Help setting up a Watch
- Registering residents
- Applying for funding
- Providing launch materials
- Connecting with local police teams
- Ongoing guidance and support
A Watch can be created for a street, estate, village or wider community.
The current Police and Crime Commissioner funding available for Derbyshire is limited and will be allocated on a first-come basis.
Residents interested in setting up a Watch can email hello@derbyshireneighbourhoodwatch.co.uk
to receive assistance with registration and funding applications.
This initiative provides an opportunity to strengthen communities and help protect neighbourhoods across Amber Valley.
