Appeal for information launched following series of robberies in Alfreton
Police are appealing for information following a series of robberies in Alfreton.
The incidents happened at three different stores based in Mansfield Road, High Street and Institute Lane between 4pm and 6pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (November 27, 28 and 29).
On each occasion a group of men or boys wearing face coverings and dark clothing entered the stores, made threats towards shop staff and stole numerous mobile phones and vapes.
Officers from Alfreton Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by colleagues from SNT teams in South Normanton and Somercotes, have now arrested two boys in relation to the robberies.
The boys, aged 13 and 15, have been bailed pending further enquiries.
In addition, a number of the stolen items have since been recovered by officers.
The investigation continues, and police are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
In addition, they would also like to speak with anyone who has CCTV which covers the area of the incidents and has not yet spoken to officers.
The SNT is also stepping up high-visibility patrols in the area for public reassurance.
