Investigation after man suffers serious injuries in Alfreton
An investigation is ongoing after a man suffered serious injuries in Alfreton.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Parkin Street just before 3.40pm, Thursday 16 February.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in police custody.
Police would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone in the area around that time.
At this time officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and they do not believe any weapons were involved.
There is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.
