Derby College has been awarded a College of Excellence 2022 by the UK's ‘Best Spa for Guest Experience’*, Ragdale Hall Spa, in recognition of outstanding practice and standards in beauty training.
Ragdale Hall’s Faz Rajput presents the College of Excellence award to Justine Walker and students at Derby College
The College of Excellence award certifies that Derby College has high standards of training and consistently collaborates with Ragdale Hall Spa to offer students work experience and enhance employment opportunities.
Derby College Holistic Therapies teacher Justine Walker said: “Ragdale Hall have recruited learners from the College before and we are delighted to have now been awarded College of Excellence status by this prestigious employer.
“It paves the way for our students to gain valuable work experience enhanced with a special timetable at College with different roles and flexible working times to prepare them for the world of work.”
Based in Leicestershire, Ragdale Hall Spa is an award-winning privately-owned spa, renowned for its outstanding facilities – including Rooftop Infinity Pool – and exceptional customer service. It has one of the most comprehensive selections of spa treatments available anywhere in the UK and employs around 110 Beauty Therapists.
Ragdale Hall Spa works with several colleges to inspire students to excel in careers within the beauty industry. Colleges benefit from a career presentation, work experience for students, open evenings and treatment demonstrations at Ragdale Hall Spa.
Lynne-Marie Benzie, Ragdale Hall Spa Training and Development Supervisor, said: "Derby College has been awarded ‘College of Excellence’ status for their continued commitment and dedication to both their students and Ragdale Hall Spa. Each year we visit the students at college to carry out a career presentation and evaluate the skills of those who are interested in a five day work placement with us – a valuable opportunity to experience one of the UK's busiest and most highly regarded spa beauty environments.”
Colleges are reviewed annually and must continue to meet Ragdale Hall Spa's standards in order to maintain their College of Excellence status.
