First Look At New Oakerthorpe, Alfreton Italian Restaurant Revealed
Italian restaurant Pesto at the Peacock has revealed the first look at the remodelled pub.
The former tavern has been transformed by privately owned independent Italian restaurant group Pesto following a substantial investment of £400k.
The unveiled design reveals a contemporary makeover, transforming the historic site into a relaxed and spacious 120 cover dining location.
The new look embraces the building’s former life with refurbishment to the exterior, while double doors open on to a contemporary new outdoor terrace with space for 40 diners.
The design of the project has been led by Neil Gatt, co-owner of Pesto Restaurants. Commenting on the development, Neil said: “It’s been a pleasure to work on the transformation of such a well-known and historic building. As we make the finishing touches to our refurbishments, we wanted to reveal a design which will see an inviting and modern look whilst retaining the key historical features of the building.
“We look forward to welcoming the local community to enjoy our new restaurant and establishing it once again as a key local landmark.”
This latest opening will be Pesto’s 10th restaurant, which is renowned for Italian small plates or ‘piattini’, boasting over 40 dishes full of big flavours. Giving a true taste of little Italy, dishes include Pizzette piccante con salsiccia, spicy Italian sausage, and Penne con pollo al dragoncello, chicken breast, fresh tarragon, mascarpone and pecorino cheese.
The new venture has also seen a local recruitment drive with around 60 positions across the kitchen and front and back of house positions, ensuring a top team is in place for the opening. Those interested in applying for a position should send their CV and their reasons for applying to careers@pestorestaurants.co.uk
