Ripley's Big Day Out
Ripley Town Council are excited to let everyone know about Ripley’s Big Day Out.
To be held on 19th July 2017 from 10am-3pm at Midland Railway – Butterley, this FREE event is designed specifically for the many older people in our township and our surrounding villages of Heage, Nether Heage, Sawmills, Bullbridge, Ambergate, Marehay and Waingroves.
Sometimes, it can be difficult to know where to go for advice as you get older on all manner of things from benefits to keeping active. The aim of Ripley’s Big Day Out is to have all this advice in one place for you free of charge. Not only this, it will be a lovely day out too!
The day, which will be completely FREE to our residents will include – Free transport (if required) to Midland Railway – Butterley from Ripley or the surrounding villages, free car parking should you wish to drive yourself or come with family member/carer, a free ride on the Midland Railway, free light refreshments, free entertainment as well as access to all of the advice that will be available to you. So far, just a small selection of who we have attending is Amber Valley Talking Newspapers, Community Transport, Dementia UK and Carers Derbyshire with more still to be arranged!
We are delighted to be working alongside the Midland Railway – Butterley for this unique event, their wonderful facilities really enhance the day and we hope that people will start to spread the word!
