Appeal after children's play area is damaged in Pinxton

Published on Monday 13 May 2013

The edging around the basket swing, in the park between Wharf Road and Glebe Avenue, was damaged sometime between 9am and 2pm on Thursday, April 24.

PCSO Marion Jeffery of the South Normanton and Pinxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team has been making enquiries in the local area.

She said: “The swing has had to be removed for repairs because the damage left the equipment unsafe, at a time when more youngsters will want to enjoy the play area during the bank and school holidays.

“It is both disappointing and sad because it is an area created for the community to enjoy, and will cost almost £100 to fix. I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact us. “

PCSO Jeffery added: “We will also be making patrols to the area to reassure local residents and to help deter this unacceptable behaviour.”
