Snow Affects Opening Season of Crich Tramway Village
Crich Tramway Village is inaccessible today (Friday 10th March) due to heavy snow, so the management has decided that for safety reasons, they will not open, as previously planned on Saturday 11th March. The site itself is covered with thick snow including the track and trams cannot run in current conditions.
Decisions as to when they will open will be dependent on the weather.
General Manager, Dr Mike Galer, said:
“It is hugely disappointing for us due to all the hard work from our salaried and volunteer workforce to get for opening and I’m sure, for our visitors, but safety is paramount and the site is not currently accessible. We hope to open for the new season as soon as possible and will keep the public informed via our website and social media.”
