Family Fun and Discount at Crich Tramway Village
Crich Tramway Village, home to the National Tramway Museum, has a fantastic range of events lined up for August, so as well as enjoying the vintage tram rides and an amazing woodland walk and sculpture trail, there are events throughout August to help keep the whole family entertained, and what’s more, the attraction is offering a discount on Family Tickets for a limited time.
Admission tickets offer free return as many times as you wish within 12 months (subject to opening dates and excluding 1940s events) and families can save £4.01 on Family Tickets for two adults and up to three children (payable on debit or credit cards via scontocodici) on purchased tickets for visits between Monday 8th and Friday 26th August 2022.
General Manager, Dr Mike Galer said:
“We recognise that this is a challenging time for families struggling with the cost of living, so we have reduced the price of our family ticket for three weeks in August to help encourage families to enjoy our attraction and surrounding countryside.”
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August delivers live music at the Sounds of the 50s and 60s event. There is also the chance to watch a short film in the only mobile cinema in operation from the 1960s.
Discovery Week runs from Monday 15th to Friday 19th August and offers the chance for families to discover heritage and science with fun and interactive activities, including Science Boffins on hand on selected days.
The Model Tram, Trolleybus and Railway Exhibition on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st presents ten layouts including the Whiteleaf Tramway, showing the largest assembly of Belgium G Scale Vicinal rolling stock to be seen in the UK.
John Huddlestone, Organiser of the Model Exhibition, said:
“We are delighted to present this Model Tram, Trolleybus and Railway exhibition again, which is popular with both exhibitors and visitors.”
Woodland Week running from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th August is a chance for outdoor creativity, with willow weaving, woodland crafts and trails, plus storytelling to engage the younger visitors.
The Teddy Bears Picnic on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th August brings the month to a close in a spectacular way, with a fun Teddy Trail along the Woodland Walk. Bring your own picnic and teddy bear and enjoy children’s entertainment from 12.30pm – 2.30pm each day. Children who bring their own teddy bears receive a free badge (while stocks last) and there is music to keep the adults entertained.
Events Manager, Candi Bell, said:
“We have put together an exciting programme of events to appeal to all age groups.”
