Appeal to trace boxer dog owner after woman breaks her leg in Mackworth park.
Police are asking for the public’s help after a 52-year-old women suffered a broken leg in an incident involving a boxer dog on a Mackworth park.
At around 9.20am on the morning of Thursday, 30 April a man and a woman were walking their dog across the park on Greenwich Drive South, Mackworth, Derby.
They have reported seeing another man and a women talking on the park and were then aware of a boxer dog, that appeared to be with this woman, chasing after their dog and start attacking it. It then chased their dog towards where they were standing causing their dog to run in to the woman, knocking her over and breaking her leg in four different places.
The incident is being investigated by PC Lucy Farrelly from the Mackworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, who said: “I would like to speak to the woman who appeared to be with the boxer dog.
“She is described as being around 5’ 8” tall with shoulder length blond hair and we believe that she is local to the Mackworth or Mickleover area.
“I would also like to speak to the man who was talking to her on the park.
“The dog is described as a male, tan coloured boxer type dog with a white patch under his muzzle, he was wearing a red coloured harness.”
