Watch Out For Council tax scam

Published on Tuesday 14 January 2020

Amber Valley Borough Council has been made aware that fraudsters are calling and messaging people to say they are due a refund on their council tax, or even a discount if they pay future tax in advance, and asking them to provide their bank or credit card details via a bogus website that appears to look like our genuine website.

Amber Valley Borough Council says it would never contact residents in this way and is urging anyone who is suspicious to contact the police by calling 101.

If you receive any correspondence and are in doubt, please contact our team directly on 01773 841440.

Contact the team directly on 01773 841440 or email council.tax@ambervalley.gov.uk
