Small Changes add up to Big Differences - New Year Health and wellbeing

Published on Thursday 9 January 2020

January is a time for making resolutions, whether it’s to get healthier, wealthier or just happier. But how many of us stick to them?

In 2020 why not make a decision to change your life for the better with FREE support from Derbyshire County Council.

Live Life Better Derbyshire is a healthy lifestyles service that offers advice and help on a wide range of health and wellbeing topics.

This covers the following key areas:

• stop smoking

• weight management

• getting active

The service also signposts to help and support with mental health and wellbeing, falls prevention, alcohol awareness, housing and financial help.

Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Communities, Councillor Carol Hart said: “January’s the traditional time that we all make resolutions but these tend to fizzle out before the month has ended!

“Our Live Life Better Derbyshire service offers free health lifestyle support whether that’s stopping smoking, getting more active or losing weight.

“Small healthy changes can really add up to a big difference to your health – so why not get in touch.”

People can take part in the Live Life Better Derbyshire service if they are:

• A Derbyshire resident (excluding Derby City)

• Work in Derbyshire (excluding Derby City)

• Registered with a Derbyshire county GP practice.
