DLRAA Receives Donation From Friends Of Glebe Close South Normanton 2019
On Monday 25th November 2019, Friends of Glebe Close South Normanton donated £912.00 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Representatives of this group presented Richard Fletcher Volunteer Derbyshire Community Representative for DLRAA, with the money that was raised when they embarked on a series of activities during their Christmas Fair on 16th November at Glebe Close also included a Tombola. with prizes donated by local business (a special thank you to everyone for their fantastic support and amazing prizes).
Richard said: “We were delighted to be presented with the money from this group. They have done an amazing job. Throughout the day so many volunteered their time to help and support them. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Therefore, support from the friends of Glebe Close really is invaluable and this goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.
DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 16,800 Rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700 with DLRAA completing on average 5-6 missions every single day, 365 days a year
