Richard said: “We were delighted to be presented with the cheque from Andrew & Karen Wint, and Team Oakfield, it will help us save 3 lives and will help buy some of the medical supplies we need to treat patients, DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Therefore, support from people such as Andrew & Karen, and Team Oakfield and everyone who supported this event really is invaluable and it goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.”
Richard also said: I would like to personally thank everyone for their fantastic support to make this event truly amazing. This year we had the very changeling weather on Saturday and it really made a big difference from last year, we also had some very special guests to help with the weekend and I would also like to thank them, Mark Vallis and the team from Derbyshire Blood Bikes, Adam and the crew at Ilkeston Community Fire Service. East Midlands Wood Recycling for building a Gin Bar. The 16th Ilkeston Scout Group also all the volunteers who made this event so special. Also, to our Pilot who did the fly over with the crew of HeliMed 54 on Saturday Afternoon which helped really boost the donations and lift the whole day.
We are already planning next year’s event which will be held on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June 2020. Please come and join us in what should be another fantastic weekend of activities for all the family and help raise money for an amazing lifesaving service. When you’re fighting for your life, every second counts. For us, this makes every mission critical. DLRAA was formed in 2008, every day of the year your local air ambulance is helping save lives. Our critical care paramedics, trauma doctors and pilots fly an average of six rescue missions a day – from medical emergencies, to road traffic collisions, to sports injuries, to industrial accidents. Our rapid response gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. But we couldn’t do this without people like you. We rely entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 we need to fund each rescue mission.
