Belper Firm CertiKit Wins Top Industry Award
Derbyshire company CertiKit is celebrating after winning a top accolade in the UK Technical Communication Awards.
The Belper firm launched in 2010 writes and publishes collections of documents called toolkits, which help companies applying to meet certain standards.
Now two of these toolkits – one aimed at GDPR compliance and another at information security – have landed the High Street company a UK Technical Communication Award.
The trophy was presented to managing director Ken Holmes during a glittering ceremony at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
Other winners at the event on Wednesday, September 11, came from across the UK, along with countries such as Sri Lanka and Hungary.
Mr Holmes, who wrote the toolkits, said: “On behalf of The CertiKit team, I’m delighted and honoured to accept this prestigious award.
“I’d like to say a big thank-you to our customers whose valuable feedback has helped us to enhance and develop our toolkits to make them more useful, more effective and better value than ever.”
Accolades were presented during a gala dinner awards ceremony organised by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators.
The GDPR toolkit has been sold in more than 80 countries and helps organisations to comply with the European Union regulation, which governs personal data.
The second toolkit deals with the ISO27001 International Standard, which helps organisations with their information security, such as cyber security, and apply for certification. This has been sold in 85 countries.
All CertiKit toolkits are made up of Microsoft Office documents and spreadsheets, which guide organisations towards ISO certification, or compliance with other regulations, such as the GDPR. They are sold across multiple sectors.
Judges praised the toolkits as “excellent examples of technical communication”.
Judging panel team leader Paul Ballard added: “The toolkits provide all the information organisations are likely to need… the overall look and feel is clear and professional.”
