Timing change for cabinet meetings at Amber Valley Borough Council
Amber Valley Borough Council’s cabinet meetings, at which key policy decisions are taken, will in future be held in the early evening, rather than in the morning.
Cabinet meetings are held six times a year, and are open to the public. There is an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions of the cabinet at the start of the meeting.
Following last week’s meeting in the council chamber in Ripley Town Hall, the next three cabinet meetings will take place in Belper, Alfreton and Heanor.
Commented Leader of the Council, Cllr Chris Emmas-Williams: "We believe that moving the cabinet meetings to the evening will enable more people to attend should they wish to do so. It is important that this key element of the decision-making process is as accessible as possible."
"With this in mind we have also committed to using different venues, around the Borough, to stage cabinet meetings going forward."v
