Officers dig deep with youngsters in Horsley to help create a garden for a local school
Officers on the Shipley, Horsley and Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have been digging deep and getting to know youngsters at a local primary school as part of a garden project.
The team have been working with pupils and staff at Horsley Woodhouse Primary School to create the space, with officers coming in to help during their engagement visits and even volunteering their own time.
PC Dave Norcross, of the Shipley, Horsley and Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We visit the schools in our local area to get to know youngsters and speak to them about safety, it’s all part of the engagement work we do.
“It was great to be able to take part in the project as we hope that the children will have been able to see us in a different light, but also helped to create something which pupils at the school will be able to enjoy, perhaps in years to come.”
The project was completed last week, with bedding plants for the garden kindly donated by Horsley Lodge.
