Free Christmas parking for all
Amber Valley Borough Council is reminding residents and visitors to take advantage of its popular annual free Christmas parking initiative, which this year begins on 11 December. Running from 1:00pm each day, it will last until 26 December, in all of the borough council’s pay and display car parks, and is open to all car park users.
The free parking is aimed at encouraging residents and visitors to shop in the borough, to support local traders and the local economy.
Deputy Leader of the Council, councillor Trevor Ainsworth, commented: “It’s the council’s great pleasure at this time of year, to offer free parking to all shoppers and visitors to the wonderful market towns of Heanor, Alfreton, Belper and Ripley. New for this year, the free parking has been extended to visitors to encourage shoppers from further afield to come along. I would personally like to encourage people to take advantage of the free parking, to explore each of the four distinctive towns in Amber Valley and the wide range of shops, services and places to eat and drink, which they have to offer”.
Free parking is valid from 1:00pm each day from 11th December 2018 and ends at midnight on 26th December 2018. Other rules regarding parking in disabled parking bays and maximum stays will still apply.
