DLRAA Receives A Legacy Donation In Memory Of Colin Sheldon
On Wednesday 14th November 2018 The Openwoodgate Adelphic Club donated £324.00 to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The Adelphic Club members presented Richard Fletcher Derbyshire Volunteer Community Representative for DLRAA, with the cheque at Zion Methodist Church Openwoodgate Belper during one of their meetings. The donation came when they decided their annual raffle collection would be given to DLRAA in Memory of Colin Sheldon a loving husband and very proud member of the Adelphic Club who sadly died on 28th April 2018; Colin will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Richard said: “I was delighted to be presented with the cheque from The Openwoodgate Adelphic Club, DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. This lovely gesture to celebrate the life of someone very special and close to so many hearts goes a long way to help keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.”
DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 13,000 Rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700 with DLRAA completing on average 5-6 missions every single day, 365 days a year
