Policing lessons for youngsters at a South Normanton school
Youngsters at an infant school in South Normanton have been getting to know more about the work of the police and staying safe.
It is after officers from the South Normanton and Pinxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team paid a special visit to The Green Infant School last week.
PCSOs Tom Smedley and Lucy Naughton spoke to the children about their work, what equipment they use and had the chance to take a look around a police car on Thursday, October 4.
PCSO Smedley said: “It was great to meet the youngsters and tell them all about the work of police officers and PCSOs. They were really interested and enjoyed checking out our equipment and the police car.
“This type of work is all about helping us to engage with some of the younger members of our community, will help them build trust and confidence in the police and offer an insight into what we do and how we can help.”
Officers from our local Safer Neighbourhood teams make regular visits to schools to engage with youngsters.
