Traffic Light Improvement Works In Alfreton

Published on Saturday 6 October 2018

Motorists are advised of potential delays at a busy Alfreton crossroads while Derbyshire County Council upgrades the traffic lights.

The current lights at the A61 King Street junctions with the B600 High Street and Church Street are being replaced with more modern signals.

Work is set to start this Sunday (7 October) and is expected to take around three weeks.
Traffic will be single file, controlled under temporary traffic lights.

To minimise disruption the work will be carried out outside of peak commuter hours, from 9am to 3pm, weekdays and weekends.

A Derbyshire County Council spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused. This is essential work to replace the current lights which are coming to the end of their working life and we will endeavour to carry out the work as quickly as possible.”
