Summer Crossfit sessions set for youngsters in Belper
A set of Crossfit taster sessions are set to take place in Belper during the school summer holidays for local youngsters to enjoy.
They have been organised by officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood policing teams, with the support of Amber Valley Borough Council.
The sessions will take place between 12 noon and 1pm every Monday, starting from Monday, July 23 and until Monday, September 3 at Amber Valley Crossfit, on Queen Street.
Crossfit programming is constantly varied functional movements consisting of weightlifting, gymnastics, rowing and lots more and will be suitable for all young people aged between 13 and 18 years old.
The varied programming is performed at high intensity, working endurance, strength, speed, stamina, power, flexibility, balance, agility, accuracy and co-ordination.
PC Jeannette Gardner of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team said: “We’ve organised a chance for youngsters in our area to try out some free activities during the school summer holiday.
“It will give local young people the opportunity to get together with their friends, take part in something a little different and also help us to prevent reports of nuisance or anti-social behaviour.”
