DLRAA Receive Donation From The Heath Family

Published on Monday 4 June 2018

On Thursday 31st May 2018, The Heath Family donated £327.61 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

The Heath Family and many of people that helped on his special evening presented Richard Fletcher Volunteer Derbyshire Community Representative for DLRAA, with the money at Hazelwood Hall Farm in Hazelwood. The donation was raised when Margaret and her family decided to host a Heath & Safety Talk from the National Farmers Union (NFU) and invite farmers from the local area to join them, they had other activities too on the night including a BBQ, the event was on 16th May 2018 and was well supported by the local farming community, and this event would not be possible without the sponsors Belper & Derby Young Farmers, Matlock and Derby NFU, Westpoint Farm Vets, also Anthony Andrews Butchers for proving the meat at competitive prices & proving the BBQ equipment. Margaret wants to thank and all the many people that made this possible and their fantastic generosity.

Richard Fletcher Derbyshire Volunteer Community Representative for DLRAA said: “We are delighted to be presented with the cheque from Margaret and her Family. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding, therefore support from Farms like this is really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.”

DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 11,900 Rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700 with DLRAA completing on average 5-6 missions every single day, 365 days a year
