Local law firm raises money at Tansley Car Boot Sale for children's charity
Local law firm QualitySolicitors Chapman & Chubb, which has offices in Somercotes and Alfreton, headed to the Tansley Sunday Market & Car Boot Sale on Sunday the 25th of June, to help raise money for the children’s charity Barnardo’s.
Principal of the firm, Aileen Chapman and Legal Secretary Sarah Lindley went to the weekly sale with a large number of household items donated by employees from the rest of the firm. Throughout the day the team, which included Sarah’s father, were able to raise £170 for Barnardo’s at this event alone.
The firm also ran an Easter Egg competition for Barnardo’s back in April and Sarah will be undertaking a cycle challenge in October where she will ride an exercise bike for 160 miles in the firm’s gym, with all donations going towards Barnardo’s projects.
Sarah said, “We had a fantastic day at the boot sale. We had no set prices for what we were selling, we only asked for donations. Some visitors refused to take anything as they just wanted to donate some money to such a great cause.
“It is definitely something we as a firm would do again as we always look to help raise money for Barnardo’s in any way we can.”
Any remaining items from the boot sale were given to the Barnardo’s shop in Alfreton.
