Our objective is to advance the education of pupils by developing effective relationships between the staff, parents/carers and others associated with the school and engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment that support the school and advance the education of the pupils. We achieve this by organising social events throughout the school year to which parents/carers, relatives and friends of pupils and staff are invited, such as the Annual Charity Dinner, Crazy Race Night, Deal or No Deal Evening, Quiz Night, raffles, non-uniform days, etc. We also operate the 200 Club where for a small subscription each month you have the chance to win MONTHLY CASH prizes!! We are a registered charity and are run by a committee, officers are elected annually. The money raised each year is spent by the school on various projects, equipment and resources. The PTFA relies entirely on the goodwill and energy of the parents, carers and staff.
In the past the PTFA has supported a diverse range of activities/schemes such as:- International, European and UK residential trips for students, School Productions, Equipment for GCSE students, PE equipment/kit And much more.
Every parent/carer is automatically a member of the PTFA and is welcome to attend all the meetings and to contribute to the decision making process. But the PTFA cannot do it without your help, coming to a meeting or being a committee member is not a full time or lifelong commitment. Any help and assistance you can provide in any way is appreciated. The more members we have, the more we can share.
We realise that people have very busy lives nowadays but if you could spare the time to help at just one of the various fundraising events which happen during the school year, e.g. selling raffle tickets or manning the refreshments stand at one of the school productions, this would be a great help. You can even have a really good time meeting new people while raising the money.
Meetings are held to plan events, discuss new ideas and to make decisions on how the money raised by the PTFA will be spent. They are normally held in school at 6.30pm approximately 6 times a year.
