Specializing in oil painting, Martin lives and works from his home studio in Swanwick here in Derbyshire. Martin has a wide ranging practice and can produce work of exceptional quality whether it be landscape, portrait or something more abstract or contemporary.
Martin Davis is a firefighter turned painter who has been working as a freelance artist for 7 years since his retirement from the Service. Already producing work of local renown his wider reputation is now beginning to attract critical acclaim with submissions to professional competitions regularly being shortlisted. In 2012 his work “Cardinal sin: Anger in Tottenham” was shortlisted in the National Open Art Competition in Chichester.
Examples of Martin’s work are on display at Leabrooks Gallery, Leabrooks and other local/Derbyshire Galleries from time to time.
