The Derbyshire Conservation Volunteers (DCV) are a local group who undertake practical outdoor tasks to conserve and enhance the wildlife potential of rural and urban sites mainly in the county of Derbyshire. The Derbyshire Conservation Volunteers are affiliated to the The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) which is a registered charity. We work with local organisations such as the Friends of Sinfin Moor, Friends of Allestree Park and some local landowners.
WHAT DOES THE DCV DO?
The work undertaken is extremely varied and tasks include hedgelaying, woodland management, pond digging, tree planting and footpath maintenance. The conservation tasks are usually on a Sunday or sometimes a Saturday.
WHO CAN BE A CONSERVATION VOLUNTEER?
If you are enthusiastic and willing to help, you are welcome! No previous experience is necessary and age or fitness is not a barrier. There is no commitment to attend a task, you can come when you like for a half or full day!
