We are a group of local people who, as part of a growing "Transition" network made up of towns and cities all over the world, are exploring how we can increase our community's ability to withstand the twin challenges of peak oil and climate change. Our activites are all aimed at making the market town of Belper a more sustainable pace for us all to live, work and play, and at the same time reducing our impact on the planet and our individual and community carbon footprint.
Transition Belper is made up of people from all ages and backgrounds. It is not a politcial group, or a compaigning group. What brings us together is a shared desire for action for the benefit of our local community and our planet.
