Derby College Group to Host Christmas Themed Animal Unit Open Day
An exciting festive event is being held at Derby College Group’s (DCG) Broomfield Hall, on Sunday 8th December 2023, 11am – 3pm.
It is set to be a great Christmas experience for families, animal lovers, and the community as a whole.
Join the DCG team for a heartwarming Christmas experience with our beloved animal friends! The festive Animal Unit Open Event offers a variety of holiday-themed activities, including animal handling and feeding, charity stalls, children’s crafts, refreshments, and a chance to explore the animal-related courses offered at Broomfield.
Guests can meet Broomfield’s passionate team, discover insights into animal care, and soak up the magical ambience of our festively decorated facilities. Visitors will be delighted by the variety of animals on display, including meerkats, porcupines, wallabies, reptiles, donkeys, pigs, goats, alpacas, rodents, rabbits, guinea pigs, and fish.
Jonathan Taylor, Animal Unit Co-ordinator, said of the upcoming event:
“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone to this festive Christmas event, spreading joy to our animal residents and the community alike.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for families to come together and enjoy the amazing animals we care for at Broomfield.”
All proceeds from the day will go toward supporting the wonderful animals at the College.
