New Book Celebrates Book Launch at Video Shop
VHS tapes - remember them? Andrew Hawnt does, and so do a lot of other cult film geeks around the world, still watching and collecting weird movies on that beloved dead format.
This month sees the release of the book - VHS ATE MY BRAIN by Andrew Hawnt. This revised edition of the book first released almost ten years ago is the chronicle of a life spent in front of too many bad movies (and a few good ones) and appreciating them as art - because nobody else will! Andrew will be celebrating the launch of his new book at Straight To Video – The 80s Video Shop in Alfreton, Derbyshire on Saturday 17th June.
Copies of the new book will be available direct from the author, there will be a Q&A and horrible horror trailers in the shops Screening Room. The event runs from 7pm until 10pm and it is Free Entry.
Straight To Video – 80s Video Shop is an authentic recreation of an old school Video Rental Store - part Museum, part Movie Gift Shop which will transport people back in time as they step into a snapshot of the past - long before YouTube, Netflix or even DVD. It is located at 11 King Street, Alfreton DE55 7AF.
