Spring has definitely sprung with new borns at Broomfield Hall
Sunday 26th March was a very special day at Derby College Group's Broomfield Hall. Around 1000 visitors got to chance to see new life in the form of almost 100 lambs on show.
Visitors got to meet and pet the lambs, look around the working farm, and learn about some of the other animals being cared for by the staff and students at the College. The Animal Care Unit was open for guests who got to meet a host of its resident animals, including goats, wallabies, meerkats, rabbits, alpacas, reptiles and many more!
Natalie Bamford from Spondon came along with her husband and their daughter Poppy, she said of the day: "It was so special to be at Broomfield Hall and we all loved seeing the newborn lambs, Poppy, of course especially enjoyed it. The Derby College team were so accommodating and it all made for a really great day."
Adrian Oliver, Farm Manager at Broomfield Hall, said: “It has been an incredibly busy few weeks with so many births and I would like to thank our students who have helped bring these new lives into the world and in turn, for looking after the new borns. Lambing Sunday is a great time for us all, as it is heart-warming to see the reaction of, especially the children, to all the new borns."
The Derby College Group team were also on hand discussing with many potential students the animal related courses.
