Two shows back by popular demand at Derby Arena in 2023

Published on Thursday 5 January 2023

As the New Year begins, we are celebrating the successes of the live entertainment that adorned the Derby Arena stage in 2022. Two of which, Fairytale of New York and Lost in Music, are set to return once again to fill the Arena with the sound of live music and audience cheers in November 2023.

First to take to the stage is Fairytale of New York on Wed 1 Nov. From the producers of Seven Drunken Nights-The Story of The Dubliners, Fairytale of New York is direct from the West End after two highly successful sell-out tours. The show features feel-good Irish inspired music and production which is bound to get audiences on their feet feeling festive with this bigger-than-ever performance.

The show features an impressive international cast of singers, dancers, and musicians to bring you an Irish twist on all your favourite Christmas tunes including Driving home for Christmas, White Christmas, Oh Holy Night, Winter’s Tale, Silent Night and of course The Fairytale of New York. As if the show couldn’t get any better, prepare to also be wowed by some of the greatest Irish sing-along songs of all time including The Galway Girl, The Irish Rover, Danny Boy, Dirty Old Town and The Black Velvet Band. Tickets for this festive treat of a show are on sale now on our website for £28.50.

The second show promising to get you up on your feet dancing is Lost in Music which will disco on down to Derby Arena on Fri 3 Nov 2023. Join us as we recreate the unforgettable sound of the 70s right in front of your eyes as we explore the decade’s contribution to music on a journey straight to the heart of Disco. Prepare to get your groove on to songs such as Never Can Say Goodbye, On The Radio, Hot Stuff, Car Wash, Boogie Wonderland and many, many more! Platform shoes are optional.

To guide you through this musical journey is a sensational live band, incredibly talented cast and stunning live vocalists working together to create an atmosphere bound to get you dancing in the aisles. The show includes all the 70s hits you know and love including songs from artists such as Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Earth, Wind & Fire, Sister Sledge and Chic. Tickets for the feel-good show of the year are on sale now from our website for £31.50. Get ready to get lost in music and leave your troubles at home.

Both shows will take place at Derby Arena, which has onsite parking. Event parking for both events is £5 (cash) on the day. Tickets for both Fairytale of New York and Lost in Music are available now, along with the rest of our live music programme,  and can be purchased on the Derby LIVE website, at the Sales and Information Centre Guildhall Theatre, Market Place, Derby, DE1 3AE, or by calling 01332 255 800.
