Somercotes Leisure Centre, in Somercotes near Alfreton is a new eco-friendly building and offers many leisure opportunities in a spacious open park area. The venue has excellent facilities with parking spaces for around 90 cars and is a great venue for weddings, parties, special events (including christenings & funerals), dancing, music, conference meetings and there is a fitness room (especially for those who wish to be away from the larger gyms). The centre can arrange DJ’s for parties and catering to meet all your requirements. The centre has a fully licensed bar and can cater for around 160 guests in the main hall and 30 – 40 in the main bar area.
Externally there is a range sporting facilities including a floodlit multi sports surface, grass football field and bowling green. Nearby is a newly upgraded skate park, and some outdoor gym area that enhances the pleasant park area surrounding the leisure centre.
The leisure centre is well equipped to provide facilities for classes and the current opportunities include: Zumba; Line Dancing; Slimming World, Keep Fit (over 50’s); Tae Kwon-Do & Little Kickers (4-7 yrs); Pole Mission and Tiny Talk.
