Trip Advisor Recognition for Heage Windmill
Each year many people, from all over the UK and indeed the world, visit Heage windmill on Chesterfield Road and then paste their praise on Trip Advisor. They admire the beautiful location and are impressed with the knowledgeable guides. With more than 500 million reviews and opinions covering the world’s largest selection of travel listings TripAdvisor provides travellers with the views of visitors to help them decide where to stay, to fly, what to visit and where to eat. It encourages travellers to report on places they have visited and to award them up 5* ratings on their findings.
In 2015 the windmill was delighted to first receive a TripAdvisor’s ‘Certificate of Excellence’ which is based on the number of independent 4 or 5 star ratings awarded. This success has been repeated every year since and we are delighted to receive a certificate of Excellence for 2020. The windmill is managed, operated and maintained entirely by a small team of dedicated volunteers making this Award a really great achievement!
Alan Eccleston, Chair of Heage Windmill Society said ‘This Award has been received for six consecutive years and represents a huge tribute to the work and commitment of all our volunteers to whom I most sincerely offer my thanks.’ He added, ‘We are just sorry that Covid has prevented us from opening for guided tours in 2020 and hope we are able to resume them in 2021.’
Details on becoming a volunteer at the windmill can be obtained from Lynn Allen 01773 715177, or lynnallen31@hotmail.com
