Members of Event Team presented Richard & Julie Fletcher Volunteer Derbyshire Community Representative for DLRAA, with the money at the Thorn Tree Belper. The donation was made when Robert Haynes (a local resident of Belper and a very good supporter of the service) approached April Elliott Landlady of Thorn Tree Inn to host a very special Charity Bullseye Event on 17th August 2019. Generous prizes were won on the Dart Board. Also, an all-day BBQ was provided and a fantastic raffle with prizes donated by local business. We would like to thank all the business and customers for the generosity and fantastic support they have given
Richard said: “We were delighted to be presented with the money from Robert & April and everyone who helped on day. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Therefore, support from this Pub really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.” We would like to thank everyone for the generosity and fantastic support they have given.
DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 16,600 rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700 with DLRAA completing on average 5-6 missions every single day, 365 days a year
