Young people of Belper, Duffield and surrounding areas will be displaying their creative talents at a public exhibition during the half term weekend 18-19th February, 2023 at Number 28, Market Place Belper. Entry to view the exhibition is free with the official opening at 11am on Saturday when in attendance will be local MP Pauline Latham, Mayors of Belper and Amber Valley along with the Chair of Duffield Parish Council .

People between five to seventeen years will be displaying over one hundred exhibits of their talents in art, cartoons, photography and writing (prose and poetry) in junior, intermediate and senior classes. Entries for the exhibition closed on February 10th and their work will come under scrutiny of some well know but Derbyshire based creative talent:

Eileen Turner - Matlock based professional wildlife and equestrian artist, Sarah Ward - Buxton based published author and book reviewer,  Cathy Grinrod - published poet and 2005 Derbyshire Poet Laureate, Ashley Franklin - writer and photographer and radio presenter, Andy Hunt - graphic Designer with Valiant, Belper.

Entry to exhibit has been free with Rotary having contacted junior and senior schools across, Belper, Duffield, Allestree, Ripley, Kilburn and Alfreton along with Derby college, resulting in over eighty pieces of work being on view and judged with winners receiving cash prizes and commendations.

Exhibition joint-organiser John Stamp of Rotary said, "Last year we held a closed exhibition. We were so blown away with the high standard of talent of the young people,  we felt we must enable the creative talents to be seen by as many people as possible. Having seen the exhibits this year, I know visitors will not be disappointed. Please support the young people, pop in, have a coffee and enjoy some creative talent of the future."

Winning exhibitors will receive cash prizes and their exhibits will be forwarded to regional creative talent competition organised by Rotary with an opportunity to participate in a national Rotary competition.
