Established Digital Design Studio returns to Belper with a unique twist

Published on Wednesday 9 November 2022

Stylistic Design Studio is bringing a farm building in Belper back to life, filling it with design-led homeware, books and prints.  They will open the doors to their new Design Shop at 9:00 on Saturday 26th November.

The Stylistic team have a long relationship with Belper having lived and worked there over three decades. They moved their Digital Design Studio back to the town in early 2022 when they recognised that they were craving the inspiration of the creative culture and entrepreneurship that is inherent in Belper. They have been warmly welcomed by local people and businesses, and are collaborating on e-commerce, design and marketing projects in the town alongside their other work which supports an international base of customers across almost every sector.

The former farm building, on Queen Street, where the design studio is based, lent itself to having a retail operation on the lower floor. The team decided to apply their creative vision to opening a shop, sourcing and designing products and prints for their new venture - and so the Stylistic Design Shop was conceived.

Creative Director Phil Scott who founded Stylistic in 2003 said: “We want the Design Studio & Shop to be a place where visitors come for creative inspiration, as well as buying gifts for themselves and their loved ones. We are proud to be doing things a little bit differently, and the experience that we gain while marketing and running our own shop and e-commerce business will place us in a unique position with first-hand experience that can only enhance the services we provide to our clients in the retail sector.”

The design shop's “Grand Opening” event on Saturday 26th November will be marked by an array of activities taking place throughout the day. There will be free portrait photography on offer, a prize draw to win a luxurious Rigaud Candle, refreshments and entertainment, as well as an opportunity to browse the selection of carefully curated items on offer.

Phil added; “We’re keen to meet as many people as possible, not only do we want to let people in Belper and the surrounding areas know about our shop, we also want them to know that we are a friendly team who are here to support other businesses to grow.  You can browse our products, chat to our team and maybe even leave with some business ideas of your own!”

Stylistic Design Studio & Shop is based in The Studio on Queen Street in Belper, a short walk from the Market Place and the Coppice Car Park.
