New platform, Newspage, helps Derbyshire-based small businesses and charities raise their profiles

Published on Wednesday 31 March 2021

Newspage has evolved out of The Great British Bounce Back, which was launched by PR agency, Rhizome Media Group, during the first national lockdown to help small businesses and charities that would never be able to afford a traditional PR agency have their voices heard and stories told.

Newspage enables Derbyshire-based businesses and charities to create their own publicly visible and fully branded media centres (something many of them don’t have) in a matter of minutes. They can add as many contactable ‘experts’ as they wish, create tags for their areas of expertise and add any content that could be of use to the media.

They then receive ‘NewsAlerts’ ‘in app’ to breaking or upcoming news stories that they could contribute to and are also able to add news stories of their own. The Newspage team will promote stories it believes will be of interest to the media for free.
Helen Skripek, founder of the Derby-based caterer, The Butlers Pantry, commented:

“Newspage is an absolute no-brainer. It costs nothing to sign up and gives you the chance to be featured in the local and even national media for free. Since we created our own Newspage, we’ve been featured in a number of media outlets, talking about the impact of the pandemic on small businesses like ours, most recently in the Daily Mail giving our views on the March Budget. Newspage has been fantastic for getting our company’s name out there. It’s like having your own PR agency without having to pay for one — and I hear they cost a small fortune!”
Dominic Hiatt, founder, Newspage, added:

“With Newspage, we want to give Derbyshire-based small businesses and charities the chance to have potentially important exposure in the media for free. Whether they’re giving their views on a breaking news story, or have a great story to tell themselves, we’ll help them tell it and it doesn’t cost a penny. If the media coverage they get drives traffic to their websites, boosts donations or simply raises brand awareness, it all helps in the current economic climate.”
